Tracesmart, one of the UK’s leading consumer data providers, have announced the launch of the first web service in a new suite; CCJ web service . Unique to Tracesmart, CCJ web service went live in tandem with the company’s new supporting website – developer.tracesmart.co.uk – the combination of which aims to provide organisations with the ability to access and incorporate a variety of consumer data and Tracesmart services into their business systems.
County Court Judgements (CCJ’s) are issued by County Courts in England & Wales when a debtor fails to pay money they owe, with the judgements requiring the debtor fulfil their obligations to the creditor. As this information is a solid indicator of an individual’s financial standing, it is invaluable to many organisations and can be used in a variety of business applications such as credit vetting, employee background checks and debtor profiling.
CCJ web service provides the ability to access all live CCJ records for England & Wales and also the equivalent records for Scotland, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Jersey. Providing comprehensive UK coverage of court judgements, this web service is unique to Tracesmart.
Chris Rothwell, Tracesmart’s Sales Director, details the drivers behind the development of a suite of web services;
“Many of our customers have highlighted the fact that they would like direct access to data through their own systems; at Tracesmart we pride ourselves on meeting customer needs and whilst lots of our clients enjoy the benefits of having data presented to them in a predetermined fashion, as is the case in our online software, others simply want raw data to interpret themselves.
As such, we’ve instigated a program that will see a whole host of web services developed which will provide access to both raw data and also provide a gateway to some of our online services. Substantial requests for swift and easy access to CCJ data resulted in the CCJ web service being developed first; this will be followed by an array of other web services.”
To ensure that their suite of web services will be well supported, Tracesmart have launched a website – developer.tracesmart.co.uk – which details how a user can setup their systems to utilise the Tracesmart web services. The site highlights how to send a request to the CCJ web service, what response can be expected, data that will be returned and also provides code examples. Craig Strong, Head of Product Development, elaborates on the efforts made to make the service easy to use;
“When developing the CCJ web service we ensured that it would be extremely efficient, robust and secure, however we knew that if it wasn’t simple to access and well supported, all of its plus points would count for nothing.
As such, in addition to the service itself, we also developed a website aimed at the web developers who will integrate the service into third party systems. developer.tracesmart.co.uk provides web developers with clear guidance on how to integrate with the CCJ web service and highlights the various channels through which they can get help and support.
We understand that any product or service is much more than just an isolated element; it incorporates a complete experience, and it’s therefore essential that we support our suite of web services effectively.”
In addition to the supporting website, Tracesmart have also set up a dedicated Web Services team, who are on hand to assist and support users of the service and ensure they get the most out of the system.
